Installing 300 Amps of Solar Charge Controllers
I'm installing 3 solar MPPT charge controllers into my Schneider off grid system. Each of these MPPT charge controllers can accept up to 600 Volts from the PV array, and charge the battery at 100 Amps. Schneider is known for it's industrial equipment, and these charge controllers are no different. These can run at full load (100A) continuous in an environment up to 40°C (104°F).

How efficient is this Army generator? MEP-831A

The more recent EG4WP has a better BMS and can handle larger surges of inrush current. 200 amps continuous and surge to 400. I used one for my lawn tractor project. I don't think you can get them anymore. The other "golf cart" 48 volt batteries are 2 times as expensive. I wish I had bought 2 more when the were 1000$ since the other brands are $2000 and up for 105 amp/hr 48 volt, 5.2 kWh batteries.

Hi there First of all, I love your work 👍👍👍 One comment about your calculation or kWh/gallon (21:50'') I believe your home made generator is ways more efficient than you tried : Remember your engine generates around 5kwh And with even 3kwh you were ways of stalling. If you feel you have the time, a bigger alternator or a 2sd one in parallel could bring you above 3kwh ( at least 30% more efficiency per gallon which would bring you to 5.5kwh/gallon if not more) Let me know about your thoughts, and sorry for my English : I am french 😋

He said that the inverter will shut down if the battery voltage drops below a certain threshold, but the MPPT will also shut off so the unit does not charge the batteries. They say it can't be done but those who say it can't be done or being interrupted by those who are doing it now I am wondering instead of using a gasoline motor what about an electric motor. Can we get that to pull off of an electric motor where it recycles off of the in a 220 volt motor motor that will turn the same RPMs is that that's needed for the alternator

David, I loved your project. By any standard it is a success. Reading the comments obviously you can optimise it in many ways, however, what strikes me as your project's greatest strength is that it is all a made from available parts. Arguably you could repair/keep this thing going in a zombie apocolypse! Anyone can go and spend $3k++ on something sophisticated, but can they repair and keep it going if their life depended on it. As a pragmatic engineer I say, if that was your goal then you 'hit the nail right on the head'. Keep up the good work.
